Citizens of any state or nation are governed by a group of people that make decisions for that state or nation, hence the definition of government. Many Americans argue that less government is better government; yet, the disappearance of the middle class and an increase in poverty needs to be addressed regardless of the size of the government. All across the world, citizens express frustration and discontent with their governing body. The recent Arab Spring and the uprising in Ukraine are just a few examples of citizens demanding justice and fair policies from their governments, if not new governments all together. When citizens are willing to put their lives on the line for justice and equality, it's time for change. Decades of corrupt politics and ridiculously high unemployment rates are intolerable. Those without a voice will eventually be heard one way or another.

Citizens Vs. Government is for any and everyone who has witnessed injustice and seeks positive change. We can't control our upbringing or the society we're raised in, but we can control how we respond to them and demand change when we witness something that deep down inside we know is wrong. 

 

It’s hard to mention one without the other. The legalization of marijuana seems to be on the mind of politicians and smokers alike as they both vie for what they think is right. While many politicians are trying to hold their ground against legalizing the popular drug, its legalization could be a win for both smokers and politicians. Nearly 750,000 people are arrested every year for marijuana possession. That number will be significantly reduced if not completely eliminated if marijuana is legalized. Furthermore, several economists have suggested that the proper regulation and taxation of marijuana could reduce the federal deficit, which would have positive effects across the board.

Harder drugs... many wonder if the recent capture of Mexico's most-feared drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman will reduce the amount of drugs illegally smuggled into the United States. Chicago has listed him as public enemy #1, but will the influx of heroin decrease there and in other cities where El Chapo and his Sinaloa Cartel were the main traffickers? Or, will rival cartels fight to replace his position as America's #1 trafficker of illegal drugs? Only time will tell, but the debate over drugs and politics will remain constant in this country. Why? Because the money factor for both parties is ridiculous.
